Chain plate installation, port side
Chainplates are tacked in place with two carriage bolts each. After the chainplates are formed to the backing blocks, the carriage bolts are removed, and hull planking replaced. We then drill through, from inside to out, countersink ffrom the outside, and set the carriage bolts at 3/4 inch depth.
